Still, I sit on the outside, way outside but sitting here like I am connected to the Matrix pulling in so much information and news from the truly exciting, to the what in the hell were they thinking about? There was so much put out that was interesting by many of the pop culture and comic book publishers from movies, to games, to toys and I plan on talking about a few of these things that piqued my curiosity.
Comic Book Conventions no matter what the size always has so much to take in. Even when you go you have to pick and choose what you want see because you will never ever catch everything. So, even though I really want to go someday to SDCC this really may be the best way to enjoy the experience to absorb and understand the news being put out.
Now I am not going say I caught everything but these are a few of the things that caught my attention:
my blog The Russo Bros. – Hot off the heels of their success with Marvel with Infinity War and Endgame it has been announced they will be producing (notice I said producing) a Battle of the Planets project. For old school guys like me this is really major. Some of the younger people don’t understand the importance of Battle of the Planets. Before the Power Rangers and all its various incarnations, we had Battle of the Planets with G-Force known in Japanese anime circles as “Science Ninja Team Gatchaman”. For simplicity sake I remember being a kid in elementary school and everyone wanted to be either Mark (Eagle) or Jason (Condor) because they were the two coolest looking ones. When formed the Fiery, Phoenix it was awesome.
http://cafejosey.com/cafe-josey-the-cookbook/cafe-josey/page/2/ Marvel dropped some major information about comic books and the movies and television last night. Let’s take a look at some of the news that drove the crowd at SDCC wild:
Comic Books – The X-Men are getting revitalized. Even though we won’t see them in the movies anytime soon the comic books are getting an overhaul by writer Jonathan Hickman. With titles like:
provigil costo in farmacia X-Men – The X-Men find themselves in a whole new world of possibility… and things have never been better! Jonathan Hickman (HOUSE OF X, POWERS OF X, SECRET WARS) and superstar artist Leinil Yu (NEW AVENGERS, CAPTAIN AMERICA) reveal the saga of Cyclops and his hand-picked squad of mutant powerhouses! (Team consists of Vulcan, Cable, Corsair, Havok, Jean Grey, Cyclops & Wolverine)
X-Force – X-Force is the CIA of the mutant world—one half intelligence branch, one half special ops. Beast, Jean Grey and Sage on one side, Wolverine, Kid Omega and Domino on the other. In a perfect world, there would be no need for an X-Force. We’re not there… yet. (Team consists of Beast, Colossus, Wolverine, Domino, Kid Omega, Jean Grey, Sage, & Black Tom Cassidy?)
New Mutants – The classic New Mutants (Sunspot, Wolfsbane, Mirage, Karma, Magik, and Cypher) get together with a few new friends (Chamber, Mondo) to seek out their missing member and share the good news… a mission that takes them into space alongside the Starjammers!
Marauders – Even in this glorious new dawn, Mutantkind faces hardships and oppression from their human counterparts. Led by Captain Kate Pryde and funded by Emma Frost and the Hellfire Trading Company, Marauders Storm, Pyro, Bishop and Iceman sail the seas of the world to protect those hated and feared!
Fallen Angels – Psylocke finds herself in this new world of Mutantkind unsure of her place in it… but when a face from her past returns only to be killed, she seeks help from others who feel similar to get vengeance. Cable and X-23 join Kwannon for a personal mission that could jeopardize all Mutantkind!
Excalibur – Mutantkind has always been special…as has their relationship with the world—or WORLDS—around them. As this new era dawns, a new connection forms between mutants and the magic of the world… and that of Otherworld! Can the new Captain Britain forge a new way through the chaos with her companions Rogue, Gambit, Jubilee, Rictor…and Apocalypse?!?
But I know so many of you aren’t into following the comic books any more and you are caught up in the television and movie hype. So, I know this is what you want to talk about:
As Avengers: Endgame finally surpassed Avatar like it really matters because Disney owns both. Marvel dropped their Phase 4 lineup and it was massive. Now let me address the elephant(s) in the room there was no official announcement of Fantastic Four or certain sequels like Black Panther 2, Captain Marvel 2, and Guardians of the Galaxy 3 other than they are in development but we know they are coming but what they did announce was (in my Dylan voice) HOT FIRE!!
While Agents of SHIELD has run its course and will end after Season 7 the new Disney Plus Service drops this fall and will have shows over the next couple of years connected to the greater MCU.
- The Falcon and the Winter Soldier
- Wanda Vision
- What If…? (Animated Series)
The Movies for Phase Four are just as interesting
- The Eternals
- Shang Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings
- Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness – connected to the TV show (Wanda Vision)
- Black Widow
- Thor Love & Thunder
- And the 100% certified shocker Blade with Marshala Ali
Even though DC Films skipped SDCC this year which is a crazy
